March 2006
March Madness? Or March Miracles!

Wow, another month of the wonderful grace of Jesus!

February happenings:  Just as I received permission to return to teaching skiing after shoulder surgery, my phone rang and I was asked to leave immediately for Texas.  A forest firefighter had been seriously injured and the public information officer in charge was overwhelmed.  I left the next morning and spent ten days in Granbury.  During my assignment I was able to pray with several firefighters, give away over a dozen firefighter New Testaments, and hold a chapel service.  By God’s grace the firefighter survived.

I returned at midnight on February 27th and left the next morning to help lead worship for the High Ground, men’s Bible/ski retreat in Beaver Creek, CO.  High Ground is a phenomenal 3-day event with over 100 men attending from around the country.  While on the chair lift I was able to share Jesus with a New York lawyer who is searching.

The morning after returning from High Ground I preached at our home church.  Melva and I  “accidentally” started New Song Christian Fellowship in 1969.  I pastored it for 21 years and now serve as minister-at-large.  I am preaching a three-week series on mission and vision and would really appreciate your prayers.

Now it’s back to teaching skiing, training forest firefighters and working with our college ministry. We are strengthened daily by your prayers and faithful encouragement.

Family:  Melva is still substitute teaching almost every day.  In addition, She will be helping 25 of our college students do Katrina relief in LA over spring break. Joy and Stephen are doing well in Scotland at Bible College. Rebekah has designed a new cover for our “Thou art Worthy” album and is still working in Vail (we had several meals together while I was there). Steve is working at the Community Church and getting great feedback. Tim is still making progress at BIOLA toward a spring graduation.  My mom has been fighting sickness recently.  Thank you for your prayers for each of us.

Coming up:  April 2-9, we will hold revival services in Guthrie, OK.  April 28-29, I have been asked to teach at a men’s retreat near Colorado Springs, CO.  May 8-11, I will be teaching at the Horizon School of Evangelism in San Diego.  June 17-18, I will be speaking at a men’s conference in South Dakota.  We depend on your prayers as we strive to be Jesus’ ambassadors.

Finances:  By God’s grace and your faithful support, we’re still moving forward with every bill paid.  Thank you!

May the Lord Jesus richly bless each of you.  You are soooo loved and appreciated.
